We are looking for an individual with a passion for front-end technologies in a fast-paced and energetic environment. You’ll have a superb eye for detail and complete understanding of how design is used to help users find and navigate through information with clear and intuitive user interface and simple, rationalised user experience.

You’ll be working with designers and developers to create multi- device interfaces, layouts and experiences that minimise user effort, avoid confusion, and look great at the same time. You will have control over the design decisions that make a difference to the usability of the final product, and will be highly skilled at implementing them in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the creative team and controlling the visual output to ensure creative decisions are compatible with user experience goals
• Steering the front-end strategy for the business
• Implementation of front-end pages, style guides and UI interactions
• Gathering user requirements and creating wireframes and prototypes
• Presenting concepts to clients

Required skills

• Produce clean, well structured standards compliant HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
• Usability and user experience layout design for desktop and mobile
• Information architecture
• Interaction design
• Prototyping / wireframing
• Knowledge of web standards, accessibility and browser compatibility
• Understanding of progressive enhancement and related techniques

Desired skills

• Experience working with version control systems such as Git
• Experience and knowledge of MVC based JavaScript frameworks such as Backbone.js & Sencha Touch
• CSS pre-processing such as SASS / LESS
• Object oriented CSS
• PHP and MySQL or other open source dev stacks such as Ruby or Node.js
• Experience of user centred design (UCD)
• Practical understanding of agile methodologies
